A U.S.-Based contract manufacturer had trouble with workers placing PUI Audio’s through-hole product in their design backwards––despite markings on the side and top of the product. It happens. When notified of this issue, we suggested adding a third pin to the product, to allow installation only in the correct orientation. The adjustment was made with a slight price increase, but nothing compared to the cost of reworking the assemblies with products placed incorrectly.
